From Broken Bird to Smiling Girl: Yan Yan's Story

A trafficking victim in the Philippines shares her story of healing.

By the age of 12, Yan Yan had experienced horrible things. Like many children, especially those in poverty in the Philippines, Yan Yan was a victim of trafficking. But when she was rescued and brought to Happy Horizons Children’s Ranch, Yan Yan learned that there were people who really cared for her and would protect her and help her heal. Slowly this “broken bird” began to trust. Yan Yan shares her personal experience of triumph in this moving, and sometimes disturbing, video.
