Why Babies Are Abandoned
In Kenya and other African countries, girls and women in extreme poverty often are survivors of rape or incest, are more vulnerable to HIV/AIDS, and lack resources to get help. Because of this, the number of abandoned babies and children is staggering.
Many newborns are left in marketplaces, public parks, hospitals, and even latrines and trash collection centers. Social workers and good Samaritans rescue babies and bring them to the homes, where they receive lifesaving care. You can help give abandoned babies a safe place to heal, grow, and thrive.
About New Life Home
In 1994, New Life Home started with three babies when missionaries Clive and Mary Beckenham became aware of the high number of abandoned babies in Kenya. Now, having rescued and cared for more than 2,000 babies at four locations in Kenya, New Life Home brings true hope to hard places.
New Life Home partners with the Kenyan government to provide the best care possible. Babies and children at each New Life Home are nurtured physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
