Flooding in Haiti – Update May 2022

Since the devastating flood at the end of January in 2022, Child Champions in Haiti have been serving children and their families as they rebuild and recover. Please consider giving to the Children’s Crisis Fund.

OneChild supporters rallied around the victims, providing generous donations to the Children’s Crisis Fund that not only sustained these kids and families in poverty physically but revived their HOPE.

Across five different Hope Centers, 161 children/families who lost their homes and/or belongings have been blessed with disaster relief in the form of clothes, shoes, mattresses, bedding, books, school supplies and uniforms, tableware, house repairs, and more.

Losing homes and belongings took an emotional toll on the families impacted, so professional trauma counseling was offered to help them cope as they start their new lives. And since most of these families live in an area that is likely to face flooding again, contingency plan training was provided so that they can take measures to minimize the impact of another crisis.

Please continue to pray for the people of Haiti as they heal and for our Child Champions who are still helping them recover.

We are accountable to the children we serve AND to our donors.

Our accountability to our donors is one of our highest priorities. Our goal is to use the funds entrusted to us as wise stewards. To do this requires continued monitoring of our fund distribution.
