What if the people of our church could sponsor one village of kids together, and take regular mission trips to go love them, communicate with them collectively, and resource the programs and facilities that serve them every day?
From our earliest days, Denver United has aimed to establish God’s Kingdom in this city in a way that marshals resources for the Kingdom’s advance on its global frontiers. To this end, we have sought out strategic partnerships that express our heart for serving the marginalized in our global society in Jesus’ love with innocence, excellence, and innovation.
As technology and financial empowerment continue shrinking the globe, we are able to engage in global mission more holistically than ever before. It has been our particular focus to find a partner organization with the vision and agility to facilitate a new paradigm of child sponsorship. What if the people of our church could sponsor one village of kids together, and take regular mission trips to go love them, communicate with them collectively, and resource the programs and facilities that serve them every day?
After years of praying and searching, we discovered an organization called OneChild that is doing just this sort of work in Ethiopia. OneChild is a ministry that works to bring hope, truth, life, love and mercy to nearly 40,000 children living in poverty all over the world. OneChild works with indigenous churches in helping equip these children to meet their God-given potential by providing opportunities for physical, mental and relational development.
We are excited about the partnership that has emerged. God has led us together to focus on the village of Waliso, Ethiopia, where Denver United members have sponsored over 200 children already.
I’m asking you to prayerfully consider joining my family and me in sponsoring a child of your own in Waliso through OneChild. Through sponsorship, you will make a lasting impact on a child and his/her family by providing nutritional support, medical aid, educational assistance, and most importantly, an opportunity to grow in God’s love.
We accomplish vastly more when we’re united than any of us ever could alone. Let’s continue to build God’s Kingdom together, one child at a time!

Children’s Best Hope: A Strong Church
Our vision for the church is global: The body of Christ growing, strong, united. If the church is strong in a poverty-stricken community, we know that we can effectively help the children living there. A strong local church partner is one of our prerequisites for ministry. And that ministry isn’t possible without the support of the church in the U.S.
We’re building a
community of hope.
OneChild sponsors provide encouragement, love and support to children living in poverty. And they empower an entire community of caring individuals who walk alongside those children as they grow. Through that community, sponsorship provides the resources and opportunities children need to rise above their circumstances and reach their potential in Christ. In fact, recent research demonstrates that child sponsorship is one of the most effective ways to combat global poverty. There’s real power in one person reaching out to one child through community—power that changes both lives!
Sponsorship with OneChild helps children grow in…
Your child has the opportunity to learn about God and His purpose for their life.
Your child gets help with their studies and is taught problem-solving, leadership, literacy, and life skills.
Your child is provided nutritious food and supplements and has access to medical check-ups and immunizations to fight common diseases.
Your child is encouraged to socialize with others and receives instruction in sports, music, and drama.
WHERE WE SERVE
OneChild sponsors empower the loving community that surrounds each child in our care. You can provide education, medical care, spiritual support, and hope to a child in desperate need.
We are accountable to the children we serve AND to our donors.
Our accountability to our donors is one of our highest priorities. Our goal is to use the funds entrusted to us as wise stewards. To do this requires continued monitoring of our fund distribution. OneChild is also a member in good standing with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA)
