I'm a Child Champion because...

My background inspired me to work with orphans and vulnerable children. I lost my dad at the age of 2 and my housewife mum was left with 8 kids to care for within nothing in hand. At the age of 6 I was spending a whole night fishing to support my family. My education was a struggle and I appreciate so much the community members who came together to raise the little amount to kick start my high school. The subsequent years were not easy, I was in and out of school for school fees. I earned a grade and moved to Nairobi where I started working as a teacher, seeing how my boss was sending away orphan's and vulnerable children who couldn't afford school fees touched me. I vowed to do something and in 2009 I started a school for where we were serving orphans and vulnerable children but this didn't last long. God opened ways and I got a job with youth group and within four I saved enough and in 2013 started the project again because I believe it is only through education that we will be able to drive the orphans and vulnerable children out of…

We are accountable to the children we serve AND to our donors.

Our accountability to our donors is one of our highest priorities. Our goal is to use the funds entrusted to us as wise stewards. To do this requires continued monitoring of our fund distribution. OneChild is also a member in good standing with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA)
